Practice Information
Rainwater Psychiatry is an outpatient psychiatric practice. Those who generally find us appropriate for their needs are looking for (or at least considering) ongoing medication management of a wide spectrum of mental health issues (i.e. most any psychiatric diagnoses as long as an evaluation and/or biologically based treatment is potentially needed) See below for more.
May be a good fit for outpatient psychiatry
seeing a therapist who recommends a psychiatric evaluation to see if a medication might be an helpful aid to your therapy work
seriously considering if inattention and/or hyperactivity and impulsivity is inhibiting your ability to function and thrive at work and in relationships
new to the area or change in health insurance and need a local or in-network provider to continue your current psychiatric medications
May not be a good fit for outpatient psychiatry
wondering why life has become such a struggle, feeling tense and on edge much of the time, or experiencing an emotional sensitivity that is disrupting your life and have not yet discussed this with a trusted therapist/counselor (If your situation is similar, you may be a great fit for outpatient psychiatry, but in general I recommend speaking with a trained mental health counselor first to help consider what might be best for you)
feeling like you’re at the end of hope, can’t go on, or contemplating suicide (If your situation is similar, you deserve care that is higher-level and more expedient than what an outpatient provider can offer. In which case, please give yourself the best chance for feeling whole by reaching out to one of the resources suggested below or any other)*
wanting a counselor or therapist to help talk through concerns and experiences (Rainwater Psychiatry is unable at this time to provide psychotherapy. Listed below are some resources that may help in finding a therapist)**
